The White Color Chaos Journal

Today I’m sharing an update on the group art journal project I am a part of – The Color Chaos Journals!

6 of my art journal friends and I decided to do sort of an art journal round robin, we each start a journal and send it to each other, letting the others create pages in their journals.

The twist? Each journal is a different color! Fun! See the previous journals I’ve worked in here- Pink, Red, Gold, Blue, Lilac. This past month I have been working in the White Journal and it’s so lovely.

I love using bright colors in my art, so this journal was a struggle! It’s a lovely journal and there were already so many great pages in it, but I had a hard time finding my white style for my first few pages but hopefully they are “white” enough.

My first page was obviously a space page. Space is very much black so it was a challenge to make it white. A fun challenge though!

This next page is a group collaboration. All I added to it was the girls face on the right and the “untamed spirit” writing.

Julia did the page on the right below, and I did the page on the left. I have a wallpaper sample booklet that had a few fun textured white pieced in it, that I collaged onto this page.

The book page flaps up. It’s actually a piece of “resin paper” that I made.

The woven paper strip page on the right below was already in the journal when I got it, so I created my page on the left and then added the blue strips and the cloud to the right as well.

Please tell me this next pages looks white enough to you? Okay, so maybe I went a bit crazy with the neon pink paint, but I needed some pink. I tried my best to keep the page white inspired though. 🙂

Only 2 more pages to go and I think I was finally finding my groove in this journal! I sketched on this white tiger and gave him a shimmery pastel background.

And my last page in this journal: The lady on the right and the bird die cut were already there, and I sketched on the white haired girl on the left. I think she must be pretty magical to have shimmery white hair.

I also added on the butterfly diecut.

So there we have it! I only have 1 journal in this series left to do- Black! Which will be a bit different from white, yes? Do you use much white in your work or are you all about the bright colors?

If you have a couple of minutes, be sure to stop by the rest of the Color Chaos Gang’s blog to see they’re colorful journals!
