Paint + Paper

Hey guys, Happy Wednesday!

I’ve been testing out a new blog feature here on the blog, Art Journal Wednesdays. The problem is that I don’t always have new pages to share, so I’m renaming this feature to “Paint + Paper” and I plan to share my art journal pages, scrapbooks, project life pages and card. That way it’s more open, and I can share things other than JUST art journal pages.

I feel like I never share just layouts or cards anymore, so I’m excited for this feature. Today I’m sharing a little of everything.

To start off, here are some art journal pages I made recently (for the Get Messy Art Journal Challenge).

I actually printed out a poem onto patterned paper and then outlined a few words I wanted to stand out and painted over the rest. It’s a fun technique.

You can do it with journaling, a poem, a book page or newspaper, etc. Make up crazy stories by using random words, or try and make sense.

For this next page, I made a list of “things I love”. The background is made from embossed washi tape (you’ll see a post on that soon!!), with a bit of gelatos and stitching.

This last art journal page is pretty simple, just a painted background with doodles and a quote I love.

I make and send a lot of cards so I’m always making extra hello and thank you cards. Here’s one I made recently using some new supplies I got.

I don’t do weekly project life spread, but I do use pocket page protectors for some photos and events and work them into my scrapbooks.

Do you do any paper crafts or art journaling?
