In Fair Verona- Art Journal Zine
Today I have another art journal zine to share, I love doing these! It’s fun to have a miniature art journal done in one theme.
I have a secret to share- I’ve never actually read or watched Romeo and Julie. Unless, of course, you count Gnomeo and Juliet. 🙂 So I felt a bit of a fraud when making these pages, I still had fun though.
The cover: I added the little rose and gems.
Left page by me, Right page by Karen. You know I love a good space page, so I tried to match Karen’s pretty starry background.
Spread by me.
Julia did the page right after this one, using some felt tip markers and they bled through to this page in pretty jewel tone colors. Inspired by that, I got out my paints and made a bright, fun background.
I drew “juliet” onto some a piece of white paper and adhered her on top.
Left page by me.
I had the last page in the zine, and I was inspired by Verona, Italy. I collaged some papers down and went over them with watercolors and gesso. I wanted to doodle on some Italian style “tiles” in purple. Do you think that’s what the look like? I hope so!
I love collaborating on art journals like this! I highly encourage you guys to go visit their blogs and see the rest of the zine, because the rest of the pages are amazing!
What do you think? Even though I’m terribly uneducated (and totally okay with that!) on Romeo and Juliet, I do like the finished zine!
