Get Messy Thursday- Quotes
It’s Thursday again! Time for a peek into my arty journal.
This is the Season of Words in the Get Messy Art Journal community, so I am art journaling in a copy of Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins.
I’ve only got a few pages to share today. This month I’ve been pretty busy doing my 30 Days of Watercolor challenge, as well as a lot of custom work. It’s fun to take breaks and play in my art journal though.

I saw this photo on facebook and just knew that it was going to inspire a page in my art journal. The quote is perfect and what a lot of us artists go through.
This page is a fun one, it’s interactive, meaning that piece of paper with the washi tape folds up, and you see the whole quote.

The background is gelatos over top of gesso, and then I wrote the quote on vellum and cut it into strips before adhering it down.

This page uses one of my favorite mediums- CRAYONS! I went a little crazy with them, and then painted over them so I could do a scratch off.

The next page is not really a favorite. It has some great texture, but for some reason I chose to use orange and that is not really a color I like.
I like the quote though, which I cut out from a Me and My Big Ideas paper pad.

This last page is a favorite, however it’s not in my altered Mockingjay book, just my regular art journal.
This page is actually inspired by a poem that my Aunt wrote about me. The bottom half of the right page flips up and the poem is underneath.

I love working quotes and poems into my art journal because I cannot always come up with the words myself. What are some of your favorite quotes?
